Dressed For Spring

The birches all are dressed for spring.
Their leafy arms they lift and swing.
With every breeze that passes by,
The apple blossoms fall to lie
Upon the road, like drifts of snow
And in the woods, wild flowers show
Their lovely faces for awhile.
The blooming shrubs, each country mile,
That scent the air, send their perfume
Into each building and each room
And as the days grow long, I see
Such beauty now surrounding me!

Joyce:  Thanks for your remarks.  We have 4 inches of snow or so today and still more coming. Could hardly believe my eyes at 5:00 a.m. Even the dgos did not want to go outside.

Needless to say, this poem was not written this year!!

wordancer:  I couldn't write this one today as we are having snow and it is quite cold. Everything is white and you'd never know it is May 7th.

such a lovely picture. Could be on a Currier and Ives piece...

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost
