Sugar coated words that sound and feel so good
Eyes say one thing while the mouth quite another
He said she said but neither hear as they should
If they had known the pain would they even bother

How can something so small with that look grow huge
Light happy sway of the hips change to feet of lead
Sunshine turns to cloudy as words of accusations flow
Why did hope for that good life turn to one of dread

Sugar coated words to take the sting from the hurt
A smile to cover the pain as a heart breaks apart
Pride takes a beating as you decide what frindship is worth
Who wins who loses or was it decided from the start

ME:  Words have such power don't they? They can bless you or destroy you.  I enjoyed your poem.

Your poem said so much about friendships and how words can hurt.  Very good.  Joyce
