Once it's gone, it's gone
and the morning joy is dust
you sing, you sing a song
of love and death and trust

Go on, scream and be as blind
as a score before you were
but please, in deed, be kind
it's just a lie you know.

Take some grace and style
from the sisters of the fold
reflect a stronger smile
refine yourself in gold.

Once it's gone, it's gone
oh, yes, it's true my dear
and somehow you belong
to each and every tear.

For many fish are in the sea
but you have the last laugh
for you escaped, the test you see
you're now safe in the past.

You'll always be remembered
as the one he couldn't have
so leave him now, dismembered
a fraction of the half.

(This is just fantasy, I didn't dump anyone!)

oooo, this is interesting and well written. I'm glad he got dumped, not good enough for you, you deserve better!   Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

I like this a lot.  And he probably deserved it, your turndown, even though it's all a fantasy.  Joyce

This was fun to read.  He'll always regret the one that got away, even in fantasy.

Quite realistic "DUMPING" even if it was written in fantasy.  I enjoyed reading this.....it was fun.
