There's a hush to autumn,
midst the rustle of the leaves
the sense that things are finally through the struggle
that all nature's met its needs

Its the same when you've done your best
to accomplish some great task
still filthy from the sweat and grime
yet in your triumph you still bask

The golds and reds and yellowed greens
top off the arbor crowns
and like the kings of yesteryear
from their thrones they still come down

And while some dazzle in the colors
in the autumn spect'cle bright
I dance and sing and rapture
in the blue of autumn midnight

when the stars are liquid fire
and the full moon their fair Queen
then I dance like some wild child
bewitched by some lusty fae unseen

the choice is yours I suppose
to choose which colors you adore
but I must always always...choose the Blue
as I always always have before
Your spelling is perfect, Sol! Denise
