Once in a while whilst i ponder
Thoughts stray away, winding wonder
Beath a soul fueled by fire
Beath a man filled of desire
Anger hatred pain and fears
Beath a boy filled with tears
Beath a parent filled with woe
as you watch a newborn grow
Slowly slipping fingers of child
Slowly slipping to reality wild
No action foretold, no destined fate
Beath a soldier empty of hate
Yet brought to arms, duty called
Now lies a man away from all
Beath a Husband, Father, and Son
Doing liberties "Must be Dones."
Awaiting the return to house and home
Beath a soldier whos mind doth roam.

if the eyes be the "window" to the soul then, poetry is the "road"..nice piece..

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

fiercly held, rigid salute of gratitude...
tis those who sacraficed of self that gives the rest of us our liberties.
Gratitude is rarely gifted; so my thanks for the ability to express it here and now.
Thank you for your service, son.
