A single ivory feather danced on warm summer air
hopping emerald blades of grass and sunny little daisies
Itfluttered lazilly and landed neath my feet.
I stooped to inspect this dancing quill,
plucked it from the ground.
As I touched this soft white down,
a far-away sound began to soothe me.
I curled my fingers around the snowy quill,
floated weightlessly towards the sun.

I seemed to settle upon a branch,
gently as if placed on cloud,
next to an angel playing a flute,
notes that ached in my heart.

He turned to me with eyes of gold,
and with lips so evenly bowed.
he whispered that he'd broken his wing,
and needed a friendto mend it.

So he'd sent a single wing- feather out,
to find a true secret- keeper.
The quill had travelled fifteen days,
looking for a soul of quietude.

upon the tune from his sliver flute
it had searched and found only me.
So I placed his feather back in place,
with a tender shaking hand.

and watched as he flew the azure skies
never knowing where he would land.
As he faded into sun -bright beams,
Joy hugged me from deep within.

Now where I once had an empty hand,
I now have a tingling palm.
My guardian angel will be by my side,
and my secret will keep me from harm.
