I saw the sun one morning
It smiled and seemed to say
Why do you turn your eyes
from me
as you go on your way
Do you not gaze longingly
toward the setting moon?
Do thoughts of falling stars
send your heart to swoon?
I humbly replied,pray do not
plague me so the reason to display
Foe love rides on wings of fantasy
till stolen by the day
All through the night
my mind is free to dream
My memory ambles along
a running silvered stream
I once loved a gentle girl
with eyes of ebon black
and only with the dark of night
will ever she be seen
In dreams we walked in the fields
of stars
Two lovers hand in hand
She tripped along beside me
Sweet scented was her hair
I hear her tinkling voice
float lightly in the air
She starts to fade as each
star goes in the dawn
and slips back into my memory
as silent as a fawn
