Changes (A/N: It'd be wisest to read To My Lili Marlene to get the full story behind this poem.) They say that change is always good. Try saying that when black is your mood. Hopefully she won't give me the cold shoulder. Even though my arms won't get to hold her. You bring out the best in me all the time. God, is loving her such a crime? Places I could count on seeing you present. You now are ominously absent. I cannot return to the coffee shop any longer. Because painful memories of Thursday linger. Oh how many nights robbed of sleep? Ten, eleven, I cannot count sheep. The chapel does not hold the stigma though. From it to me, God's strength doth flow. Still I see you there no longer. What does not kill you makes you stronger. Well then I'm getting pretty strong. So alone, I shall march along. I remember December, the first change. When I felt a wistful warmth strange. I woke up that morning, and by noon. I no longer felt the same in the afternoon. The way I'd felt thanking God for such a friend. I fell in love with you by the day's end. It was exciting and terrifying by turn. When will I ever learn? My love life before I met you was tragic. But in December things seemed to work their magic. I know you're happy with him at your side. So I'll leave you be now, and swallow my pride. I wish the second change would find you in my arms. But unfortunately for me, are not your charms. The third change is most depressing. You are missed and I'm doing the missing. Hopefully the fault is not mine. But I must get myself back in line. Not all change is bad. But these three certainly are sad. Despite this you'll always be in my heart. Though by circumstance we are apart. You'll always be my Lili Marlene. Depite all the angst and pain. To me you'll always mean a lot. Though being with you wasn't in my plot. I chart my lone course through the seas of life. If our paths cross again, hope there's no strife. there is always hope.... i was exactly the same for months after my ex dumped me. now i work with him and his current girlfriend. its really hard but just think there is someone out there for you and you should concentrate on having fun... its all ive been doing since i got dumped. my philosophy on life is: live life and live it full coz you dont know when its gonna come round at you and bite you the butt. i live by this and i honestly am having more fun now than i ever have before. keep your hope alive.  (big hugggssssssss) Oh Carl, I see exactly how much your love for her is true, sweet friend, any special young woman would be happy to love you as you have a sensitive, golden heart and I sure hope Lil Marlene can see that or you must express yourself to her! (sigh) Changes are inevitable in life but know among them all true happiness is in store for you, God Bless You, we all love you so much!
