redwing blackbird
blue sky red sun
white skin crimson blood
red berries black thorns
red lips suckled tips
fingers throbbing from the pain
muffled groan dark delight
pain inflicted deep skin
throbbing gone laughter here
little pixies always near
watching waiting staring too
dragon fly red hawk
good berries stealth stalk
silver moon rising high
stars out...... so am I.

" and I dream of her always,
even when I don't dream.
her name's on my tongue
and her blood's in my stream."

'Christmas in Prison' John Prine

Solstice Son:  This made me smile as I have been picking thorny raspberries for several days now and I have all the scratches to prove it!

This is a great poem! I was giggling! I can just imagine all your scratches...(those berries are worth it in the end!) Great structure too.
