Lightning bugs sparkle
On this humid summers eve
Children de-lighted!

Dancing in meadow
Celebrating Summers night
Earth bound twinkling stars

This midsummers night
Stories of magic are told
Fairye dust sprinkled!

Thank you Melissa  & Joyce for your kind words. I would like to add this to the collection:

Twinkle, sparkle and shine
Claim this night for it is thine
Let the fire fly

How I love to see sparks fly.

Songbird,
Thank you for your poetic reply. I noticed that your syllablic count on your lines were 7-5-7, Just opposite of the standard haiku. If you are starting a new form, count me in, I could use the extra syllables to work with!
LOL Thanks again, Dennis ;^)

2Dalimit,
My childhood summer memories are filled with chasing butterflies and grasshoppers in the day and fireflies at night, pure magic those days! Thanks for your reply. Dennis :^)

I thought this one was great!

I just discovered this beauty and had to tell you so, Dennis. You know I can't resist these Faeries and their delightful dust! Ellie
