(This is total nonsense, but it was fun to write and I hope it brings you smiles!)

The Myth Moth

Back in the days of legends old,
Of dragons fierce and knights so bold,
There lived a Myth Moth, so gigantic,
He drove people really frantic!
They'd hear him coming long before
The creature ever reached their door
And so they had some time to hide
Their wives and children, safe inside.
Their horses and the cattle though,
Didn't have enough room to go
Into the barn and so they ran
As fast as horse and cattle can,
To leave the area until
The Myth Moth came and ate his fill
Of anything he found to eat.
They knew he really craved red meat!

One day, a farmer's son declared,
They could beat him, if they dared.
So he proposed they build a net,
Strong as steel, but it would let
Light pour through, as though not there.
Just like a giant spider's lair.
They toiled away, each one alert,
For sound of wings, or clouds of dirt,
For when that Myth Moth flew, his speed,
Kicked up dust that all should heed.
At last the trap was laid and then,
They heard him coming once again,
So ran into the trees and hid,
To watch and see what Myth Moth did!

He flew right into their surprise.
They listened to his mighty cries,
But he was caught, there was no doubt.
No way that he was getting out,
And then they had to realize,
How could they deal with Myth Moth's size?
They thought and thought and they could tell,
They hadn't planned this very well,
But finally decided he,
Was not the threat he used to be
And so they'd leave him hanging there,
Just drying in the autumn air.
They figured on some stormy day,
They wind would blow what's left, away
And that's what happened, but I know
Most people won't believe it's so!

Betty, I just love this and am roaring with laughter picturing this GIGANTIC moth caught in a net trap. hehe

Sometimes we just have to write silly, willy-nilly poems for pure entertainment.

Marti:  I wrote this to read to Ron, because we had caught a big moth in the house one night.  He loved it, so though I'd share it.  I have to break down and write something like this, ever so often!
Thanks for reading and enjoyed your comments.
