Come out of Pencil Box

Searching in the list of things I written down,
None I can find, my passion deep in blood.
Not one subject, not one man, I'm interest in
Working hard to attain perfect satisfaction.

Help me... to become a poet
A poet that love to read, love to spend
Years and days to learn the craft.
Help me... to become braver
Braver than yesterday, to step outside of
Of my pencil box... (of my pencil box)

Searching in the list of poems I written down,
None I can find, satisfying to my thirst.
Not one subject, not even writing, I'm interest in
Going over all the manuals and standard tests.

Help me... to become a poet
A poet that love to read, love to spend
Years and days to learn the craft.
Help me... to become braver
Braver than yesterday, to step outside of
Of my pencil box... (of my pencil box)

(speaking)
Step out of your pencil case,
The clock is clicking and there is no time to waste.
Step out of your personal shell,
There isn't anything that you should be afraid of.
Step out of your old self on count three,
When that is done, you are new person with new skin.

Help me... to become a poet
A poet that love to read, love to spend
Years and days to learn the craft.
Help me... to become braver
Braver than yesterday, to step outside of
Of my pencil box... (of my pencil box)

Dear Eliza,  Just be glad that you have come so far at your young age.  We are our own worst critics and I know I have read some of your poetry that I would be proud to have written. With love, Joyce

Eliza, this is a very good poem. By the way,
I feel like this all the time. I know
that I'm not nearly as good as I wish I was.
I've noticed something, though, some of the
greatest writers on PIP talk about how they
can't say what they want to. Have you
noticed? Just keep writing, and we'll keep
reading.
Hugs,
Ethel
