Written to Deanna on our anniversary, for making the last 25, the best years of my life.

"with this ring"

I wed with thee
when love was free
in the time of tie-dyed dreams
and the joy that day
will always stay
a part of me
it seems

after twenty-five years
we have weathered the fears
and storms life steered our way
knowing not our fate
or future state
doesn't matter anyway

as long as we're together
we have all the rest
for I will always love you
and with this ring attest:

if diamonds are forever
then I give you three
past, present, future
for all eternity

"The greatest of all faults is to be conscious of none."
Thomas Carlyle

What is happiness?  It's love.
A dream that's shared by two,
It's a feeling that keeps growing
Whether love is old or new.

Wishing you an anniversary day
That's full of warmth and beauty,
With magic in the air!
And, many more years of love and happiness
For both of you to share.

Happy Silver Anniversary!

Thanks for reading, Joyce, Nancy, and Chris.

The anniversary was actually in June, 2002, but I couldn't get the ring until Christmas.

She likes the ring alot, but said the poem was the best part....and cried a little.
Well O.K......so we both did.

coyote:  This is very touching and congratulations on your 25th anniversary. My husband and I just had our 50th in July last year! I agree with your wife that the poem you wrote is even better than a ring!

What a lovely tribute to your wife.  She is lucky to have such a sensitive husband.  I, too, have been married 50 plus more and from experience (which no one wants to listen to) I must tell you these little gestures are worth far more than the diamonds you might give her.  They are what she will remember when you are as old as my husband and I.  B.

Thanks for reading, Spirit and Barbara.

I think perhaps I drew a winning hand too.
