All...But... (c) Jan 3, 2003 Eliza Simmons All... Can tell stories and lessons. But... Who truly understands and obeys. All... Can speak of sweet taste of melon. But... Whose heart truely feel the sweetness... Of another person... All... Can draw beautifully... cards. But... Which card added special thoughts. All... Can sing praises to Lord. But... Whose heart feel with joy... And think of the words we utter... All... Can write moving emotions. But... Which of those are within us. Sometimes when I sing, I feel guilty. Sometimes as I speak, I feel powerless. Sometimes as I write, I feel it's just another words... Come out of my month...when I think I regret... Sometimes... I wonder whether I am... a liar... Sometimes... I wonder whether I have... a heart- To change. (slower) Some say... That writing is powerful... Some say... That writing is proactive... I say... If all there is only writing... I say... If all there is just preaching... Then... Then it is not convincing... Then... Then the words lost its power... When... When sometimes I wasn't in their place, I... I have no right to say I understand... I... I have no right to judge and say... That... It will soon be passed away... (upbeat) I... I wonder whether I am... a liar... I... I wonder whether I have... a heart- To change. Some say... That writing is powerful... Some say... That writing is proactive... I say... If all there is only writing... I say... Thank you for your invitation to come here, to read, and to respond to this poem. After reading your poem, let me convey to you this important point... and that point is simply that you are very special. (Smiles) Your words are special. Your writing structure is special. Your thoughts are very special. Your responses to other's poems are also special.... and they are reflections of you and your heart. Sure we are inspired to have writing structures like other poets and we are all inspired by other poet's words.... But this poem as well as other poetry that you have written are certainly expressions from your heart and presented in your special structure of writing.... and that my poet friend is no lie. Eliza: Don't ever think any page of your journal is "useless". Everything you write is important and you never know what particular poem will really touch someone or provide them comfort and inspiration. Your writing is a gift!
