I wonder what holds your tongue my love.
I wonder what keeps you silent and oh-so careful.
What is it that you fear?
Rejection?
Or just the act of
Declaration?
I laughed when I wrote Rejection-
It’s what I fear too-
That somehow I read too much into us
And I’ll let forth all those words
Of undying love
Of forever
Truly forever
And you’ll smile and tell me not to think so much.
But sometimes when you are unguarded-
You look at me in such a way
That my heart almost breaks from the sheer joy
your love gives me
God if you knew how my heart beats
When you come near-
Or what happens when you touch me
The whole world slows to a crawl.
I lose my breath-
And can see nothing but you.
This is what I wanted to tell you last night-
This is what I left unsaid.

I wonder what it is that you left unsaid too?
