There were so many times
I wanted to say the words
but remembering your reaction
I thought it just absurd,
to keep declaring love for you
you were never free
never could you leave your world
to come and be with me.

So the words stayed hidden
within my troubled heart.
I said them to myself
when we were far apart.
I said them to the moon.
to the sky that is so vast.
I said them to the sun,
and to the stars at last.

But never again did I say them
to you when I finally knew
that it was not your wish
that I be in love with you.

Dear Whbite Rose. I know you think I've flipped, but your poem is lovely. The only thing I thought I was writing to WhtDove. She has had a terrible tragedy in her family and I can't get her off my mind. Please put it down to my normal confused state. I will be thinking of you and your Mom now though. Love, Joyce

White Rose, this is a touching piece. Well written but sad. Experience, it is the best teacher yet not always the prettiest. Write on.
