That cruel eve

I did not fight,
Nor attempt some brave act,
I stood looking,
Looking at a city's night sky
And screaming to nothing
And nobody to me.

I did not move,
Though I wonder now
If I could have,
Should it have been so simple
To touch him one more time,
An act of love, gone away.

I did not cry,
I do tremble at this thought,
There in dark shadows
Lay my soul, my heart,
The rain cleansing his way.

I cannot remember my pain
Though I am sure it is here,
Within these memories
Of nights alone and free,
Of curious hardships meant for me,
And shadows that kiss my heart
Of darkness, done my part.

TO all of you who have resoponded to my entrance in this community, I thankyou. You have been most kind, and I feel finally I found a home. I wish I had the time at this moment to respond to you, but I am going on the road for a week. When I return, I do promise to do much better at interacting within this place. Be good and Kind.

Hey...I like cryptic...(that Janet Marie is always one step ahead of me...lol)

I like your style too...really set the tone of this dark piece...
