*pounce*

as again he wraps his tiny form
around my bare skinned ankle
claws in, teeth bared
as he fights some imaginary
life threatening beast
that has somehow invaded my skin

rolling around my feet
miaowing furiously
he stops

and looks
up
up
up
to see the laughter
in my eyes

then he moves....
twitching and snaking
bobbing and weaving
side-walking across the floor
warning me in a mincing stride
that he
mighty charcoal cat
of approximately 8 weeks of age
is High Ruler and Lord
of all he surveys

and be it leg
ankle
or sleeping toes
they all belong to him

oh charcoal kitten
what next have you in mind
to conquer now?
you have my heart
(and my ankle)
what more is there
to overcome!?

Smiling all the read X Angel!

Me thinks next will be ...
1) your roll of yarn,
2) your best sweater,
3) your new pillow tassles,
4) ....

Very much enjoyed the happy read from
one furry friend lover to another!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Geez..It looks like in one of my absences, I missed a really good poem about my favorite animal.   This was really wonderful. No matter how hard I try myself, I still have yet to capture the beauty and mystery of such wonderful animals. One day maybe....I'm glad I found this.

Psst...hey...you...blackie...yeah...commere.
Yeah, I can sees youse got some dominion here and stuff...but dere's so much more out dere.  Like paper bags in the kitchen, and drapes and curtains...yanno, you can catch some righteous air off a curtain...as long as it ain't double-knit and stuff.  And den dere's da sofas and scaling 2-leggers' legs whiles dey's eatin or tryin to walk.  And da best part is slowly sneakin up on dem whilst dey's a-sleepin...wit chur tail a swayin as ya ready to POUNCE upon dere sleepin heads...WOOHOO....just be fleet of foot, blackie, or your reign mights be short-livered.
