Tears in the Night

A familiar song's stinging brings sorrow tonight
as these wistful, wishful words I cannot help but write
fall freely to page, remindful to me
of the comfort, the ease of your delicacy

"In the Arms of an Angel" I have fallen, spent
within the moistened moans of loving's scent
Lain awakened to your breathing and every sigh
every word, every syllable, each shudder, each cry

I remember such heaven with pleasureful pain
to think that we'll not live to kiss again
In the passage of time the fallings have flown
farther away than we both could have known

And the singing will end and the violins fade
we'll hold on alone, with our hearts worlds away
And the trickle, the tremble, the flickering light
will glow with the glistening of tears in the night

Dear LadyClaire

Claire,

This is so beautiful.  I think I can see those tears...sigh.  The end is simply lovely.     Wonderful writing.

Claire, this is stunning work with beautiful sorrow woven in.

Ah, I too have gone through this....a job well done Claire.

Claire, you know that I have always loved your poems!  Each one better than the next, but I absolutely love this poem, it is exceptional. Sadly, I relate all too well to the feelings expressed here, and you express them perfectly with an added flair.  What can I say that the others haven't already said.  I'll just give you a standing ovation my friend.

Take care,

I would have to agree with so many others...this is exceptional.  The words are beautiful, the mood sorrowful and longing.  Great work, Claire.

"Thank you" seems inadequate, but I don't know what else to say. You all are very kind, and I thank you for letting me know, in such sweet fashion, how you enjoyed this piece.

i must agree with jan...perfection was
penned in this one! simply breathtaking
in my opinion! While it was laced with
sadness, it was also filled with beauty.
A true and rare of work you have created
here! You made this heart smile. Thank you
very much!

Take care.
