From where I look, I see the thaw
and on the frozen floor
the sun upon the glowing crust
is glistening wet and pure.

Upon the surface of rolling hills
the glossy snowdrifts ride;
there is no place or living thrill
like greenwoods sprouting eyes.

A mild scent is on the air;
I lift my head and breathe
out of the sky I seem to hear
a calling on the breeze.

The sound of God and life and wild
the sound of earth that grows
out of the wind that whispers by
the sound of trees that moan.

I know now why it is I care;
I bend my head and pray;
I cannot drive them from my heart
these teardrops that I make.

I'm always so amazed by the beauty we see in nature
when we take the time to look ...
thank you for letting me take that pause.
Truly wonderful sentiments Ethome!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Your poem took me on a quick journey away from work, home, kids and carpools to someplace beautiful and peaceful.  Thank you.  I will save it for the next time I need a "vacation"
