Girl it's six in the morning,
daybreak dawning
and deep down but not destroyed
I'm a shadow of a love you knew
inside a ring of fire and youth
on a river of dreams passing through.

Goodnight Mr Moon
somewhere I used to be
I see you smiling at me.
Good morning Mr Day
I know it's time again
to be on my way
with my world in your eyes
I just can't stay.

Girl it's about where we've been,
talking chin to chin
and all the things that matter
are in the love and truth we knew
inside a ring of fire and youth
on a river of dreams passing through.

Goodnight Mr. Love
somewhere I used to be
keeps you inside of me.
Good morning Mr. Day
I know it's time again
to be on my way
with my world in your eyes
I just can't stay.

Great poem, I enjoyed this very much!  Very heart felt.

ethome,

Superb poem.  Comes from the heart...the best writing there is.

Great poem.  especially liked the " I'm a shadow of a love you knew inside a ring of fire and youth".  keep it up and I will be looking forward to more of these.  If you get the time I would like your response to one I posted yesterday entitled "Through Your Eyes".  It is a new style for me and I think you can give me some honest insight on this one.  Thanks
