I decided it was time for the working world and I to make a break
Some time with my family this summer I would take

Take a few months to enjoy leisure and fun... how could it fail
A peaceful week went by and then the notice came in the mail

The Domestic Goddesses were aware of my “stay at home” news
Seems I’d broken some rules and neglected to send in my dues

I sat down to read the booklet of rules displaying their official stamp
Some quiet time to read....“SLAM” guess who's home from camp

As I read my jaw bounced several times off the  floor
Baking, Scrubbing, Sewing, and I couldn’t call for take-out anymore!

No lunches out and store bought cookies were a NO!
Foreign terms like “lint trap”, “toilet brush” and “mop-n-glow”

No time for sunning, reading or bubbling tubs
If I was sick they didn’t have a list of subs!

I laid the booklet down with my face devoid of a smile
As I read the fine print... “remove cleaning lady from speed dial”

The pep talk was strong...YES I could do this... I  gave it my best
I waited for the call from the Top Goddess to see if I passed their test

The call came in they saw how I had heartily tried
But they were sorry my membership was DENIED

I picked up the Want Ads as my dream ended with a crash
With that I threw my cute little Martha Stewart apron in the trash!

Hey if they don't want you then we don't want them! Damn those Domestic Goddesses they can't push around just any girl and her apron. I think it might be a subject for the trash, you're right. Rules rules rules! Cute poem I really liked it.

hehe   This one's fun, butterflies

In order to keep a true perspective of one's importance, everyone should have a dog that will worship him and a cat that will ignore him.
