I never knew what a true friend was
until the day I met you, my soul-mate
No longer do I question how or why
I simply know it was destiny and fate

You broke the chains that had surrounded me
and let my spirit free
Teaching me how to laugh again
Allowing me to believe in me

Badly broken heart I came to you
And you smiled kindly upon my soul
Never did you laugh at me
When we are together, I feel completely whole

You are my best friend and so much more
The person I share with my hopes and fears
True happiness has always been a illusion to me
You are always there to chase away my tears

After Mom died, I didn't want to love again
But you held our your hand and showed me the way
The angels I know were with us
And their hearts beat with joy on that fateful day

Once in a lifetime a person meets someone like you
It's rare and special, and doesn't happen much
You got me to see the beauty of life again
With just a simple word, and a loving touch

Without you, I would be lost
Blind and unable to see the light
With you I am able to do anything
All goals and dreams clearly within my sight

So, dear friend I thank you
from the very bottom of my heart
And it is my sincere wish and hope
That you and I soul-mates, never do depart

If from this life I shall ever have to go
I want you to know one thing, want you to see
Though I've had lots of joy in my life

you know how there is just one particular song that describes how you fee about someone...well this is MY song to my best friend. The words are common I know...but if you really listen to the words and "feel" them, this is a beautiful song. Sorry for the long post. Love you guys.
