I looked in the mirror
and what did I see?
I saw someone
who was not me.
Many may believe
that it is all a joke.
But last night I'm sure
that Jesus spoke.
He smiled on me
and whispered my name.
And this morning I know
that I am not the same.
The one in the mirror
looks like me,
but it some how different.
How can that be?
There's a smile on that face
and a song in that heart.
I look so happy.
When did that start?
Was it last night
when I heard his voice?
Was it last night
when I made my choice?
When I walked down the aisle
and I said that prayer...
my new life,
was it born right there?
I can't seem to keep
the smile off of my face
and I always speak of Jesus
no matter the place.
Some don't understand.
They think I'm strange,
but I've got to convince them
of the change.
I want them to share
the joy that's in me,
but they are confused
and say they can't see.
So I point to my heart
and I say "He's in here".
He's the one who made
the me in the mirror.

T.A.* I remember that walk and the feeling
that I had changed while everyone else looked
on and thought I had really "lost it" when
actually I had found it!  Beautifully done
I could see the *smiles* from here

I too remember this moment well...it was not too long ago in fact.  Thank you for sharing such a lovely poem about a truly marvelous thing.
