In response to “In the hope of being together…” I see you in my dreams at night when thus our eyes do meet and tenderly I smile at you you nod your head and greet. The reflection of my eyes in yours will get me through the day. But as you then slip on by my heart trembles at the heat and silently I cast my eyes downward toward my feet. Did you see me look at your back, did you hear my sigh? And sigh I do, as your voice I hear raises up to laugh and give good cheer, knowing that this is all I have near, and to my heart I hold it dear. Oh dear heart, do not break, do not break, hold fast… You wonder if I would have emotion ~ you wonder if I would have devotion? Ah I would give you everything, but here is my finger, wearing a ring. All the years that have gone on by, all the years of no you and I… So perhaps, in the future does lay a chance to meet, some given day... until then, know when you see my eyes, they hold more than you've realized.
