Didst thou really think that I could sing about another?
When thou fillest my every thought and deed?
When mine dreams are haunted by thy touch?
When mine ears are filled with thy voice of love?

Thy heart is the one mine has always belonged to. . .
Yours is the one that mine will always hold true
Holding the most delicate treasure in my hands,
Not just thy heart, but thy soul, in these hands. . .

How could I love another when to thee I am and still remain
Thy knight fighting for thy hand, for thy life, against the demons
That plague thee night and day, battling for thy heart
Striving for that one prize, the mere touch of thy hand. . .

And when I receive that most cherished of prizes
My quest will be at an end, my life will have been worth living
Made all the more wonderful by thy mere presence
My life made worthy by thy blessing upon my soul. . .

Ah sweet Knight, 'tis thou that resides in my every thought,
'tis there no dream without thee
mine ears are mere receptacles for your whisper
of when you speak to me.

You have done more than strike the demon,
through your love you've planted the need,
my heart arises for no one but you dear heart,
my soul is yours without further plea.

My prize is to keep you content and fulfilled,
my heart is yours eternally
no quest shall you not ever win
when you bring yourself to me.

Ah Sven, I like when you bring this side of me out to play...

Sven I like it when you travel a few centuries back........like to 1564 to Stratford Uopn Avon.. maybe....or just to Camelot...maybe....Whatever the case you certainly have that atmosphere entrapped in this wonderful piece of poetry..

Sven, how this takes my mind to another place, another time. I love the images of knights and kings and all that surrounded them. Loved it, Juls

I wish you would just say what you mean!!!!  LOL

Once again you Sir Sven, you penned a truly romantic and delicate ( might I add ) subtle plea.  LOL

I'm so glad I stopped in to read this post. The poem sent my imagination to another time long ago.

Gossamer, told me what was where?     Thank you my friend, and I may have been a knight in a previous life. . . hmmmmmmmmm. . .

rosepetals, glad that you stopped in, we take this trip from time to time. . .we'll let you know when the next trip is. . .thank you. . .

Marina, you read my comment. . . I should have known that you would need "eh's" to fill out this one. . . but I don't think that they said that in England of the 1500s!!  And beer??  I would prefer a good mead instead!!!  LOL
