In the winds of Cherokee song

                You Are...

You are my morning dew...
the sweet taste of the forgotten night
        my hidden desire...
           the release of passions untold
        my truest dreams...
the birth of my fantasy flight
        my burning sun...
the warmth shattering the bitter cold

You are my virgin treasure...
           the purity of poetic pearls
        my smiling moon...
           the beacon from darkened skies
        my lost innocense...
           the rainbow of colored swirls
        my only truth...
the defender against life's little lies

You are my softest cloud...
the billowed kisses caressing my cheek
        my gentle butterfly...
           the promise of tomorrow's dance
        my inner strength...
the power within when I am weak
        my pounding heart...
the beat of my love's last chance

I am...because...you are

Mark~
Lovely, my friend!  Very powerful and touching words.  I must agree with Martini - Why isn't this a book submission?

Mark this is a beautiful poem...
its imagery is so lovely...
and the emotions are tender and sweetly expressed...
I like the unique rhyme pattern you used as well...
your taking your writing to a higher level...
and you know how I love seeing a poet
play with his poetry   LOL

Martini-Thank you so much.  It is a new form for me and I am glad you liked it.  As for the book.....well it for now will be in only one book and that is a friends scrap book.  Sorry!!!!

TerryW-Thank you kindly.  As for the book, look up.  I do appreciate your words.

Marina-My talent as you call it comes from only what I feel.  I don't know if that qualifies for talent but I do thank you.

Sunny-Next batter please....Sorry for the book thing.  There is no wife only a dear friend for which I dream.

serenity-Glad to have touched you and yes she is "SWEETNESS" defined.

Mark,

This is so full of love and devotion.  You got it bad!!  That is good though.  Hope your friend enjoyed this one too.  She must be a wonderful aldy to inspire such beautiful poetry.
