        An apple a day

Time rings out for you and me
Outside the garden and the tree.
Served a plate of expedite
From an apple and a bite

Now we blunder in a daze,
Full of roads that form a maze.
Spading sand against the tide,
Time and tide that we abide.

In this circle of extreme
Like a fantasy or dream,
Time and term and term again
Filled with longing and Amen.

Change continues into strange
Ever making the exchange
Till the sun will pass away
Serving apples on a tray

And we eat one every day
Just to pass the term away.

Seymour~

Returning to the apple tree -
I am tempted once again -
to take a bite of life -
and hold it deep within.

Your thoughts are so provoking of my own.
Thank you, dear poet.

...and if the bite were then not taken
would we ever feel forsaken...

so, so good, dear Sy!

Great poem Seymour. I love the title and the tie in to the body of the poem. Keep writing time after term after term. Well done!

Ahhh, Sy - you are the deep one - you write so well, and in such great metaphors.  I really enjoy this poem.
