Earth 3rd Rock from the sun!!

0 posted 2000-06-30 03:33 PM

Is it the night that brings the tears?
exposing all your dreams and fears?
naked trembling on your bed
regreting all the things you've said
cobwebs cluttering your mind
sorrys never healed the hurt
now your name is covered in dirt
does it keep you awake?
loseing sleep.....
the pain that you just can't shake
restless,  your soul has abandoned you
the stars not shining as brightly as they used to
and the morning comes
all seems erased
no more pain
have to get through the day
pushing all the fears away
fake smile
plastered on your face
going through the motions
so much to attone for
will you be allowed through that door?
will they forgive you once again?
will they give you another chance
to show you can be a friend?
so many people you have hurt
with your powerful lies
your tounge was quick to spread these things
now mustering the courage of an apology
don't bother saying it to me
for I expected nothing less from you
and my expectations proved to be true
so I have written you off now
a friend you'll never be
I wish you no harm
I only hope you can learn
that you can't always get by on your charm
someday all the things you've done
will come back on you
carma is a wondeful thing
someday it will find you....

Julie :)

the vibes you send out come back times three.
good poem. i like the style of this one. and the payback theme has played more than it's fair share in my poetry of late as well. it's always nice to know that what goes around comes around. hey, did anyone else hum "karma chameleon" as they replied? just wondering....

oh and by the way, i liked the atonement part too. < !signature-->

Julie~
Excellent poem! Raw honest emotion displayed here. I am a firm believer in we reap what we sew. Great piece

Take care.
