This Muse...

A part of me is missing,
Where can I find a spare?
My heart has lost its beauty,
My pen forgot its flare.

My fingers struggle to create,
An attempt at something new.
But my mind seems to be tangled,
My words they fall askew.

I'm searching for the words you see,
The words of what's inside.
But I cannot see my inspiration,
I cannot find my pride.

Empty words flood empty pages,
There's no truth in what I find.
No feeling fills the empty spaces,
No thought completes this rhyme.

I look at what's before me now,
It's almost early dawn.
But all I find and all I see,
Are emotions all now gone.

What happened to the mighty Muse,
In whom poets find their rhyme?
It seems my name she's never heard,
Am I not worth her time?

What can help me find my way,
Back to my writer's heart?
No bluejay have I caught in song,
No touch has made me start.

I cannot conquer hearts as yet,
With the magic of my ink.
I only wish to find my Muse,
And let my soul of poetry drink

I really like this too.  It's so frustratinmg sometimes when you have so much to say but no way to say it.  or just nothing to say at all   Anyway, glad your block has been lifted and you're words are flowing again

Salooma: This is a fantastic piece of writing. I agree with Erin in that you should get writers block more often.
The rhyme is good and strong. Doesn't miss a beat.

Great work Salooma.

If this is the product of a writer's block, I can't wait to read your poems when you're out of it

Sorry it took me so long to reply, but I had to search for this to read all the comments!

Lakewalker- Thanks a lot....it is definatly frustrating...it took me about 4 hours!! I'm better I think, but not as I used to...I think this writer's block is gonna last!

TopGunLauren- Ah...thanks! That means so much to me...no one ever told me that before. But I'd also like to say that we all are awesome poets.....all of you before me!

anonymousfemale- nice to see you back, well you and Erin's wishes are my command cause I feel another one coming on!

acrie- thanks a lot...i enjoy your work a lot too, we have quite a lot of talent here!

Cool poem. Writer's block is something we all go through. I once posted a rap about it, but this poem express the feeling much better. One way I find to get past it is to just think of a single verse, and write it down. Although my paes are filled with unfinished symphonies of this type, there's a good chance that the rest of the poem might just flow out.

Congratulations on this work of art. You've acquired another fan. Going now to read more of your stuff.
