Can't Hurt Me

You try to tell me I'm not pretty,
You try to put me down,
Upon my smiling face,
You tried to place a frown.
Maybe I am a little chubby,
And I certainly am not tall,
And maybe my ears are a little big,
That doesn't matter at all.
So what if I have crooked teeth,
And short frizzy hair,
You are foolish
If you think I really care.
Your fatuous insults
Are always the same,
Don't you know
I see right through your game?
My self-confidence
You try to destroy,
But I refuse to be undermined
By a little boy.
I love myself;
It's about time you knew,
I hope someday
You can accept yourself too.
