I wrote this poem about a former relationship I had with my one love... True love Love is a painful game, The passion, the tears, the pain... But you stood the test of time, I was proud to say you were mine. Love embraced us into one, The problems we faced had then gone, We battled through the negativity to reach goals, We had so much to give from our souls. Love is so hard to define, But true love is positively divine, We worked together and stood strong, We didn't stop to wonder if we were wrong. Love can be a shameful game, Why did you ruin your good name? For the sake of a one night stand in her bed, That one passion has tantalised my head. Love is a delicate word, Your affair with her is all I've heard, You have shamed me to my peers, Now I have no one to dry away my tears. Love can last a lifetime, Your destiny hangs on a lifeline, Did she boost your self-esteem? To me she did nothing but break up a team. Love always lingers, I can feel it in my fingers, Now you are sad, you apologised for being bad, But you're no longer in my life, I move out of that strife! Michelle Stott. |
