I drove past the shore past the mangroves that grow near the sea the beach's powder white sands make me rember her How she gave me my gift of this expression these verses as her gift of love Even though I'm with a new girl now who kisses me when I need to be kissed who hugs me when I need to be hugged who loves me when I need to be loved and whose intelect runs wild and free I shall always remember these verses as the gift she gave to me. dedicated to an ex who gave me the gift of poetry |
