The clock chimed once,
An hour later, a second time
It was barely minutes
Yet it went again,
Again,
And one more time,
Before it called out
Six loud chimes

Minutes whizzed by, hours flew
Six hours faded into the night
Six hours of small talk,
Six hours of nothing
but words mercilessly blown away
by the cold, icy wind

But those were the moments of warmth...

For they were
Six hours of friendship
Six hours of memories
Deeply etched in my mind

I wrote this poem after talking to a male friend for six hours on end. It was really a wonderful experience, sharing our thoughts and feelings. But it came across as rather surprising though, as I've never talked to anyone for such a long time before, let alone someone of the opposite sex...

dear estrella,
this is absolutely lovely... i, too, have had experiences like the one described here and it's truly an incredible thing to delve so deep into the heart and mind of another... i hope that your friendship with this person has remained beyond the six hours you've so vividly described here...

sincerely,
a sad tomato

you're such a beautiful freak... i wish there were more just like you...

Hey, this one has a pretty interesting concept...the value of talking and the period of time and the essence of it.  I believe in talking.  The way you put the focus on the time and how it passed added the feeling to the idea...nice recipe.

This is beautiful!  You've so well described the essence of time which it can be difficult to do.  Isn't it amazing how time can be everything or nothing at all?  Sometimes we take advantage of time, but in the essence of it it's just so priceless.
