That night it was the hardest thing for me to do
It was hard for me to cry
It was hard for me to love you
It was hard for me to show that I once loved you
It was hard for me to look you in the eye and tell you I don't love you
That night it was the hardest thing for me to do

To see that painful look in your eyes
To see those undeserved tears roll down your soft skin
To see you hurt so much all because of me
To see you suffer as if you died at that moment of the true confession which I provided
That night it was the hardest thing for me to do

To this day I still feel your pain
To this day I still question if what I felt was true
To this day I wonder how it could of been if I hadn't turned away from you
To this day I still cry myself asleep
That night it was the hardest thing for me to do

You knew how much I cared once
You knew how much I would do for you
You knew that once you meant everything to me
You knew when I told you that to live without you is not living at all
That night it was the hardest thing for me to do

I was scared to get to deep
I was unsure of what you meant when you said that " I Love You"
I was only thinking of myself
I was only trying to stop my pain
That night it was the hardest thing for me to do

I always wanted to love someone
I always wanted someone to be there for me
I always hoped that it would be you
I always prayed to find a love so true
That night it was the hardest thing for me to do

My friends all told me your better off single
My friends all told me enjoy your life have fun
My friends all told me that a girl will only tie me down
My friends all told me to just not care and live it up
That night it was the hardest thing for me to do

That night I took the advice of my friends because I was scared of letting a girl get too close

That night it was the hardest thing for me to do
I say this to you I doesn't make it better, but Iam sorry and I always loved you

This poem is a way of showing how many guys like me can make a serious mistake and have to live with it forever so a piece of advice it may be under your nose and you might not realize it until it's too late to even give it a thought so pay attention to the women in your lives and consider that one may be the right one even if she is a friend which is dear or she may be someone who you barely know, but she may be the one.

Tru~~~Is this a personal experience poem???If it is you screwed up big time buddy...Why would you let what others say tear you away from someone you want to be with...Cuz in the end you arent gonna get a second chance (only if it was meant to be though)...Just remember this quote...Its my personal favorite...

"If you want something very badly set it free. If it comes back to you its yours forever. If it doesnt it was never yours to begin with".

Next time though follow your heart and not what your friends tell you...As you put it here in the poem...Cuz it sounds like you regret the choice that you made...

Good luck buddy!!!

ok, I just had this situation once, where I was the girl and my bf dumped me becuz his friends said it was nOT cool to have a girl... so he first dumped me without telling me why, but now I heard from a friend of mine that they told him he should break up... And I think it's like the loest thing to do....sorry... but I guess it's kinda ok that you've written this poem... I dunno if you've already let her read it, but if you haven't, you really should!
*ok, my mind is clear again  *

I dream about how it's gonna end
Approaching me quickly
Living a life of fear
I only want my mind to be clear...

Really well done, you've expressed this so well TruLUV. You've touched a piece of my heart in this one, as I was once the young girl on the receiving end of this. When my husband and I were just dating (almost 20 years ago now), he got scared, listened to a few friends, and broke up with me out of the blue. I was devestated, but it didn't take him long to realize his friends were acting and offering advice selfishly. He came back to me shortly thereafter, and eventually were were married. And so the happily ever after goes ...

Powerful writing here ... well done!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Awwwww, sweetie. That sux real bad. You've portrayed your feelings well, though.
I know how peer pressure in liking/ not liking people can be. Try not to let other people rule your love life. Easier said than done... but I hope you pull through.
