Stuckfast in Writer's Block,
My feet cemented in the muck.
Nothing much to say here.
Nothing except "I'm stuck."

Thousands of thoughts trying to be noticed,
All chattering at once.
Making what seems thoughtful on the inside,
On the outside look like a dunce.

My still form sits cold upon the chair,
As silent as a tomb.
The granite exerior smothers all ideas i have,
Smothering them as they try to squeeze through.

Many a thing i try to use,
To wake my inspiration from the dead.
But it seems that for now, its frozen.
Cold, and stuck inside my head.

It seems that this kind of thing happens,
At every inspirational mile.
And that's the time that i
Just cut it for awhile.

So for now, ill step away.
Ill "pack it up, and pack it in",
And return upon't* another day
When inspiration's born again.

(NOTE: upon't= upon it)

Wow, that was pretty deep. I like your style and the concept of the poem.  )

Welcome to Passions!!!

We are very happy you have decided to join our community of poetry friendship. We look forward to having you share your efforts with us and please keep in mind that we are very supportive of each other. The pleasure you receive from reading comments on your work is the same pleasure others need by receiving your comments on theirs. This is a rule that all poets here follow. We invite you to join the family!

I really enjoyed this first post! You've described the feeling of writer's block in a very tangible way that I'm sure many others have experienced (myself included). It's so nice to see that in this case, your writer's block inspired this treasure!

I hope to read more of your poetry and your responses to our wonderful family of poets! (check your e-mail for a special message)

Best wishes,
/Kit

Hey, I totally have experienced your poem, many a time. I hate being stuck, it sucks! But I usually get over it. I loved your poem, it was personalized. Be cool!

Wonderful!  I too have often been in such a situation.  It can be pretty awful, but writing about it is a great way to get rid of it!  Welcome to Passions, we're glad to have you here!
