I am an angry goddess
walking

I am Kali-ma of Destruction
Sehkmet the Lioness
Cerridwen the Death-Hog

You do well to remain meek--
you are beneath me

I am no suckling kitten
curled around myself inside
I am the essence of the storm
the howling wind
you cannot put a name to

I am inside your darkest, quivering,
humiliating terror

I am outside catalyzing
that which makes you quake

If you present me my proper respect
(and that is great)
I shall spare you.

If not--

I shall turn my back on you--

and may dishonor take you
wherever death may leave you.

Portia - this is awesome!!!!

Where's that bit I like:

'I am no suckling kitten
curled around myself inside
I am the essence of the storm
the howling wind
you cannot put a name to'

THAT rocks...the whole thing does...

you have a great talent - I hope you know this...

Intense stuff, really enjoyed the poem. Remind me not to make you angry.

why must we pray
screaming? why must not death be redefined? we shut our eyes we stretch out our arms and whirl on a pane of glass-patti smith

Very powerful.  Reminds me of a harsher "I Am Woman, Hear Me Roar".
