Appliance Fears

It started with my toaster,
I swear it grins at me.
Now my refrigerator’s growling,
I’m afraid of my TV.

I looked down at my keyboard,
And nearly died with fright.
The keys turned into vicious teeth,
Like demons in the night.

I can’t go near my microwave,
It wants to zap my eyes.
I won’t turn on my fax machine,
It only spits out lies.

I no longer answer the telephone,
Tho’ it’s ringing off the wall.
And I can hear the death knell,
Of the tall clock in the hall.

I’m afraid my electric razor,
Wants to chew my face.
And the needle of my sewing machine,
Wants to stitch my hands like lace.

My brand new vacuum cleaner,
Is trying to suck my life.
And there’s a rattling in my cupboard,
From my electric carving knife.

I can’t uncover my mixer,
With it’s deadly spinning beater.
And I can feel the chill creep in,
‘Cause I can’t use my heater.

I cannot trust my washer,
And my dryer’s not doing right.
Is my dishwasher scheming,
To attack me late at night?

Maybe they’re possessed by aliens,
Who came from outer space.
And this is part of some grand scheme,
To end the human race.

What better way to do it,
Than to sneak inside our abode.
And create all their mayhem,
While unseen from the road.

And once their deed is finished,
Move to the house next door.
And just repeat the process,
Leaving bodies on the floor.

Now you may think I’m crazy,
But it’s a risk I can’t afford.
I don’t want to wake up choking,
Around my neck, a knotted cord.

So if you find me lifeless,
You’ll know what I said is so.
I had the electricity turned off here,
Nearly two months ago.

I love this humorous side of you. Lots of fun. But listen to this, I remember having nightmares about the appliances attacking me, when I was a child.. Seriously.  Who knows, maybe they really are being commanded by aliens.......

I used to be convinced that the drinks machine in school had a grudge against me because it always sent a torrent of hot water onto my feet before it ejaculated an empty cup in some haphazard direction!
A really hervorragend poem, Marvin! (sorry, run out of English words   )
BTW, I love all your sides   ! I once read a story about .... (blablabla ...)

Superb Marvin, just superb!  A laugh a minute.  Wish I had your talent for so magically viewing all sides of life.  Great job my friend.

Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility.
