When I stand alone in a darkened room
My arms enfold a distant dream
The music plays a familiar tune
A variation on a theme
I dance in the dark with the empty air
The Goddess of Night with new moon eyes
Her kisses as sweet as a midnight breeze
And in my ear she softly sighs:
'Dance with me as the music plays'
Dance and I will ease your pain.'
I will dance until the music ends
I must dance 'til only the shadows remain

Her kisses as sweet as a midnight dream.....loved that line, enjoyed this one.

Ian...Great visual poem.  Such sadness and yet, bittersweet too.  Thoroughly enjoyable.  Hardrock

Dancing with the empty air, thats me..This created a clear vision. Sad and beautiful at once.
