Like so many
Limp green tree trunks

A broccoli forest
Bound by a red rubberband

Waits impatiantly
Beneath the cruel spritzer
Of the grocery store shelf

Woe to the broccoli
Whose fate remains

To be shoved beneth the dinner table
Only to whet canine appitite

A really refreshing one, this! Although I didn't know dogs were keen on broccoli. Mind you, I like broccoli, and I was born in the Chinese year of the dog ...
Oh to live in a broccoli forest (sustainable, of course!)

How cute, and fun. Love it. And the last line was too perfect.

I liked this one. Poor, poor, broccoli.

Wren, this is what the dreaded vegatable deserves. A wonderful poem, almost made me feel sorry for that yucky weed.

why must we pray
screaming? why must not death be redefined? we shut our eyes we stretch out our arms and whirl on a pane of glass-patti smith

This was so much fun to read!! I love my brocolli, but my brocolli doesn't love me.... My dogs..will eat anything. Seriously, this was good and thanks for sharing!!

Agreed that is all the broccoli deserves, but looking at it from the vegetable point of view, I suppose it is kind of sad  LOL
Good stuff hon
