Trailer sat there
Forlorn, disabused
Silent
Dappled leaves paying homage
Thirty aluminum feet
Crouched low on dead tires
Inviting
Crumbling particleboard floors
Creak and Complain
Hearing the muted screams
The slap of leather
The slap of leather
The slap of leather
Echoing down the leaning hall
A faded ochre handprint
Directs traffic
And in the middle
Of a ransacked room
Visions of splatters
Run like honeysuckle
Down the walls
Like a picture of
Maiden and Crone
Musty walls
Fresh wallpaper
Slap of leather
Perfunctory screams
Splash of crimson
Staining the bedding
Turning I feel sharp pain
Eyes focusing on the
Handle merging with me
As my blood joins the
Gathering flood
Among the dappled leaves
Paying homage

Alicat

As I sit here dimly thinking
Watching modem lights a-blinking
Churning out poetic hash.
Lord, in all Your piety,
Help me keep my sanity:
Please don't let the modem crash! --Alicat

My goodness! Where did you get the inspiration for this dark piece? I like it very much. I really would like to know the story behind it.

This is brilliant!!! What descriptive vision you have! I wish you posted here more often!

~Mmmhhmm,...I have to agree,...my head needs more of this. You must return. Vivid and emotionally affecting. (IF that even makes sense). Take care. *Peace.

Sharon and Nan, thank you.  Both of you I hold in very high esteem for your varied craftsmanship.

Hardrock, thanks...gruesome wasn't what I was aiming for...I was just describing an odd dream I had.

Lotharingia...interesting name...gotta tell me how ya got that one.  I have posted here before...just check the archives and back shelves.

Wren, thank you.  As soon as I have another bad dream, I will.

Spitfire, no problemo.  I've basically been in every forum, with the exception of Teen.  That would be a bit incongruous, since I'm pushing 30.

Thanks again, guys.  It's good to find home no matter where you are.

Alicat, since you asked, Lotharingia is German for Lorraine (as in the place). Really deep, huh?
