I wrote this poem after I had a good long cry...and I hadn't been able to find the tears in a while. I wrote it after a very deep, old wound had been opened again....by happy memories I had forgotten. I shan't go into further detail....lest I bore you. ;}

I am sore, I am swollen, and I do not smile
upon living this way. And all the while,
I believe I will live until tommorow,
you can take the things you wanted to borrow.

And I cry again.

I cry because an old wound is opened again,
and from its seams spouts blood from within
my fragile, shaking, trembling being
I cannot stop the memories I am seeing.

And they hurt.

They hurt not because they are the worst,
Dear God, believe me, they are the first
I remember when I think of the good old days
but now there is no reason for the sun's rays.

And that, in itself kills me.

But now, I am afraid I must say goodbye,
to what used to be, their future was a lie.
I bid the summer's eve farewell,
and say hello to a living hell.

Still born, they don't always die,
bu dazzled, they can't forget a drug so sweet
that even children would look on and smile."

This was powerful and emotional ...
Hope you are indeed feeling better after that cry and venting with this poem.

 I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....

Oh dear! Such a passionate display of defeatism here. Don't forget about all the good things that can still happen though!

I can't believe anyone who calls themselves "chibi" could write something so heart-wrenching. Isn't Duo the happy-go-lucky one? *wink*
I empathized with this poem, though. Wounds have to be cleansed from time to time in order to heal. I especially liked the 3 lines inbetween the stanzas by themselves. They stood out and spoke to me, but then I'm always reading between the lines. Thank you for this glimpse at your soul.

~Holy Moly,...ouch!!!  Such a sad and heart wrenching piece of poetry.  Allow the light to peek in on you.  This is so well written and straight from within...the best kind .  Thanks for sharing it. *Peace.

Wow. I saw this poem the way I see my own fits of sadness sometimes... the pain comes in waves, abates, and then I start thinking again. What a great portrait of tears.

Thanks everyone for your replies!
Isis - I do feel better after venting....It takes a lot for me to cry I suppose.....but when I do....I cry completely.
lotharingia - I guess I first didn't notice the defeatist attitude of this poem.....it was just the emotion of the moment I suppose
gothicmoth - I am thrilled to know someone here knows the relevance of words like "Chibi" and "Deathscythe" lol ;}
SpitFire - I try my best to let my poetry come from within   thanks!
brian madden - Yes....particular memories bring tremendous pain....and I hope my wounds will heal soon
Portia - I am glad my poem fit you somehow
