Yesterday I forgot you...and sweet surcease of pain
Enfolded my heart in calmness, and I was free again! Yesterday doubts receded...Yesterday hope had fled And constant expectation was quieted and dead.

Yesterday I accepted the loss of you...and stilled Each tender voice of emotion with which my heart was filled.  Gone was the ache of your silence...dead the need of your touch, Vanished the spell of desire, and all that had mattered so much!

Forgotten the want of your tenderness...broken each slender rope
Which had bound my heart to Memory and bid me cherish hope
That once again you would hold me and kiss my lips and hair...
And shelter me from adversity and the chilling winds of care.

But Yesterday has passed into the archives of the dead, And once more my eyes are weighted with tears I may not shed.

Alone I face the endless road...and all my weary way
I shall pray for that forgetfullness which was mine
but Yesterday!

Rex...the raw emotions displayed here are nothing less than phenominal.  The last verse struck so hard I thought my hardrock heart would shatter.  Thank you....Hardrock

Joel..

I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.

What can a dragon say? Love can hurt right down to the bone. And it can be emotionally destructive too...
