Between darkness and Light is a war. Isis Challenge Met  Part 2!!

As darkness descends upon the moist ground,
watching my breath rise flowing through the bush
like smoke drifting upward from the heat of my heart,
pumping blood as I lay upon straw so lush.

Thinking back to the time I heard Isis cry out
from an unseen specter tormenting her mind.
I’m looking around searching the woods
for this apparition to appear, I can’t find.

Now knowing it’s the ethereal I’ll have to travel
readying myself and taking Isis soul by the wings.
laying my head down and crossing the border of lights,
here our battle is to be fought where darkness/light sings.

In approaching in part, those souls of darkness haunting
who’s delusioned souls had been released in the fight.
Showing Isis that her deeds had been just,
releasing what was good, freeing their inner light.

Backing up to an overall view
of the war between good and bad.
Showing her the dark side
had a fight, that was sad.

Seeing this light that had fluttered up before her
and with a bow said: “don’t you know me”?
I’m the monster you just slaied,
my darkness over shadowing the light non could see.

You had opened my heart with your voice of steel
laid waste to  my blackness setting my light free
letting my soul spread it’s wings
showing the universe the power of Isis for all to see

Returning to this world we created,
our deeds tell our tale, with souls that glow
upon opening our eyes, Isis smiled with knowledge
that she did lay waste the bad to set free a golden soul.

So unfurl your worrisome brow my love
and set your course upon this vessel in this sea.
sail upon and within these souls that only Isis can do
killing the darkness to set souls free.

This poem was met by a challenge to me by Isis
You can find that poem called,

Moments of Weakness

OH! I love this one!
"So unfurl your worrisome brow my love
and set your course upon this vessel in this sea.
sail upon and within these souls that only Isis can do killing the darkness to set souls free."

This is my favorite part of it, although the whole thing is just amazing work. It has a passionate plea and flow to it. I really love this one! Thanks for sharing.

Painting a picture with words is a talent...my VERY talented friend...I like the visual depth of the words.
I also like the way it looks on my screen...You know, before I read it?
Most of your poetry has "shape" to it,
that is good to the eye when reading it.  Ahh, shoot! ya know what I mean dude..     Thanks for the pictres!!

some woonderfully dark images, intense and beautiful. When I looked into the darkness I used to see turmoil now I see a pale delicate flower called hope.

Returning to this world we created,
our deeds tell our tale, with souls that glow
upon opening our eyes, Isis smiled with knowledge
that she did lay waste the bad to set free a golden soul.

So unfurl your worrisome brow my love
and set your course upon this vessel in this sea.
sail upon and within these souls that only Isis can do
killing the darkness to set souls free.

excellent Joel, challenge well met.

Excellent work. Very intense.

(And I agree with Brian in highlighting the last two stanzas - outstanding!)
