In the winds of Cherokee song

Giving In

What once was my desire
my deep burn of passion fire
rests now in winds of wake
ashes of memories all will forsake

Tides of purity in moonlit care
swept away for all the world to share
innocense lost in this lonesome night
one more time will not make it right

Tempos with angels given to chance
looking for that lover's dance
that so eluded me in chambered walls
lost forever in yesterdays halls

One more ride to set me free
one last kiss and then let it be
upon this midnight's birth to come
lifetime's lonliness I now succcumb

No passage to paths of gold
No more tickets to love to be sold
Melting against the heat within
Rest now for I am giving in

It's so beautiful, I'm totally speachless...
Wonderful work, I enjoyed it a lot.

Mark*
The heaviness of this piece is felt deeply...each line added a tear ending with a tidal wave.  I'm so sorry to see this kind of pain in your heart...excellent expression from your pen and soul.

no more talk of giving up ... or giving in
all things meant to be ... will allow you to love again
somtimes we have to let go to ... to truly hold on
sometimes we must walk in the darkness ... before we dance in the dawn
as long as I am on this earth ... you'll not be lost in loneliness ...
on our friendship you can depend ... always believe in you and this

******
Mark,
you need only to see your self thru our eyes... and then simply believe ...
fate destiny and the powers that be ...will make all our paths be known in time ...
you express your pain with the same eloquence
and depth of emotion and beauty that you express your love..
and you touch deep with this one,

Forsake not thy lonely heart
passionate fires shall impart
and succumb naught to lonely nights
but wry smile under starshine bright
and look yet upon ‘morrow’s day
‘twill come to thee, that which may…

Ah Mark, I'd rather see you chasing butterflies...'tis heaviness in your heart, indeed, that is seen here...

I can hear the sadness in this poem. Yes you may feel like you need to "rest now"...but it is only so you can regain your strength to Love again.{{hugs}}

mark,
you use words like a paintbrush. this is wonderful poetry here. i liked these lines:
"Tides of purity in moonlit care
swept away for all the world to share
innocense lost in this lonesome night
one more time will not make it right"

the whole thing reminded me of a Hootie song...
"let her cry, if the tears fall down like rain.
let her sing, if it eases all her pain.
let her go, let her walk right out on me.
and if the sun comes up tomorrow, let her be."

good stuff here. i'm glad i popped in here.

I am reminded of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "I drank what?"

What can I say here Mark???  So many words come to mind, but I think I might just be best to say.........

HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!   My arms are always open, my friend.

Oh Mark, don't tell me, you too? What is it that makes real love so impossible for us? This is a perfect poem, expresses my feelings in every way. Please read mine, I could use some support.

I found this one and have dug it up as it's one treasure of a read I've touched upon...

Exquisite!

I am of the mind that sometimes we have to feel this pain in order to absolutely wallow in the joy when it does come   Nicely done Mark, dusting of shelves in here as I was sort of missing your work.  Happy Summer to you.
