Why are you so blue?
Why don't you have a clue?
as to how deeply he loves you.

What a mean streak he endures
You call him stupid
You show him rue
and he only tries to impress you

Just knowing you're his
makes him live
He constantly gives and gives
wanting to please you

His life has strifes
He never gripes
he's just happy your his wife
to serve you is his station in life

Your sharp tongue lashes out
Would you rather see what its like in a time of drought
He doesn't even pout

You are his gold
no matter what he's told
He will continue to keep hold

You are loved so deeply
and you secretely desire another
Who's tongue lashes out at you

You don't have a clue do you?

How sad some peoples lives are they can't see whats directly in front of them or don't appreciate what they have. How sad.

Yes is sad, this was my life, she had a sharp tongue for 20 years, and I endured.
but no more. for over 3 years.
and it's great, I have a life now. and seeking true love.

love the idea kid, hate the pain.

I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.

You have so ably described one of those one-sided relationships.  Where "What if...?" has been replaced with "What could have been...."  Where love has been shoved aside for bitterness.  To all of those in these type relationships, whether you are the abused or the abuser:  GET OUT!!!  They will make you physically, mentally, morally, and spiritually ill.  No one wins in this game...and that is what it becomes:  A game.  This umpire calls Time Out.  Very well done....identified with it.  Hardrock

Across the gateway of my heart,
I wrote "No Thoroughfare!!"
But love came laughing by and
Cried "I enter everywhere!!!"
