The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2000-06-24 12:18 PM

I'm not really as depressed as all this..

The curtain of silence oppresses me,
harshly reminds me you are gone.
Still, the timber of your voice
is emblazoned in my mind.
I see your face in my reverie.
Our nights of rare communion
so cruelly missed.
I am a hollow shell of myself.
I ache to go back.
I hold close the memories
to the edge of obsession.
You belong with me-why aren't you here?
Listen..
with a little effort, I can still hear
your impassioned whispers
in the night.

God how close this is to home for me.
When you get use to someone being there, and then turn of events make them go away, you hear them in the house all the time.
After my divorce, I could still hear my little girl calling me at night, to scare away the ghost. god.
ok I'm done.

Joel.

I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.

Very good...sometimes poets can reach back to that dusty wretched corner of the soul to bring out something really dark..even though we don't feel it. This is the sign of a good poet.

The curtains of silence...Oh how we can hear the voices, or footsteps of someone gone. This was just superb!!

Sandra...another one of yours I missed.  I'm so glad people love you enough to go back and bring these forward.  This is so wonderful...even if it is sad.  I love it...and you for sharing it.  Hardrock

Cat, you are so good at this. I remember that feeling all too well, and it's no fun!
