COLORS

Where other folks see colors,
I see shades of gray.
Where other folks see sunrise,
I just see the day.

Where other folks see rainbows,
I just see stripes upon the sky.
But I remember colors,
And it makes me wonder why.

Why did my colors leave me,
Just where did they go.?
And what happened to my rainbows,
And morning sun rise glow?

I guess my colors left me,
When SHE left in the night.
So now I only see things,
In shades of black and white.

Can YOU bring back my colors,
Turn gray skies into blue?
Can you restore my rainbow,
In multicolored hue?

Can you share with me a sun rise,
Of yellow, red and gold?
Until I reach the bright light,
At the end of being old?

If you bring back my colors,
All I have, I’ll give.
Help me find my colors,
So once again I’ll live.

what can i say to this?? so exquisite so vivid, tho no color you feel you have.  now you make me i wish i was a potted plant, that blooms only when tears are on your face, so that they be erased with the colors i bloom for your grace.  i am adding this one to my library!!!!!! GREAT work, rock of hardness.

Wonderful work hon!  I'd bring you your colours if i could.  But I believe it is up to us to find those colours not rely on someone else to steer you there, for if noone steers you there for years, think of all you'd miss out on!!  The journey must start with you and then find someone to share those colours with.
Wonderful

God a great poem Hardrock , I had to mix colors  most of my life, in paint and now graphics.
I just don't know what I would do without them.

Thanks JJ and Joel....I envy those who have the talent to paint word pictures here in the forum.  I've never had much success at it.  Most of my stuff has to rely on the reader's ability to interpret for themselves the individual meaning of each poem.  Love your colored response Joel...amazing stuff and, as always from you, most appropriate.  Hardrock

This is a beautiful piece because it goes beyond color and into feeling. Color is so used in imagery, it's such a vital part, even black, which isn't really a color is needed. The expression of poetry I think adds color to a person's life and more so if we go beyond just stating something is red, blue, but find another means to explaining the color.
well, I really rambled on this one, but I did love it.

Hardrock...
What an awesome poem! I loved the work, and the imagery you used in the poem... I hope you find the person who can remove the "film" from your eyes... Sunsets are a terrible thing to miss...
Great work!

Your poem is  beautifully written and so very true!
I Just have to reply to this one with a verse. Those colors only you can bring back to your life - no one else!

Who art thee arrived at the Taverns door?
And what is it that thou clamor for?
Color thou sayest? - Then welcome in
Here thou wilt find Color - and More!
