There's someone in my head and it's not me. Words from Pink Floyd

There are words inside my head struggling to get out
sometimes marching orderly, some tumbling about
grappling, rolling, gasping, fighting, some slowly with full pout
some grappling with the meaning, some just wanting to shout

There are thoughts inside my head that seek the light of noon
some falling over in their rush, some coming much too soon
tumbling, circling, tossing, whirling, making me a loon
then disappear into the mists, some to me gently croon
a lullaby of gentleness that soothe me when I swoon

There are emotions in my head, unconnected all apart
but when they come together, they image out my heart
bitterness, compassion, envy, anger for a start
then onto love, pride  hope, awe, wonder, peace my counterpart,
and miracle of sweet release as words flow forth and part
the raging waters, still the storm and words come struggling out

"It is the image in the mind that links us to lost treasures;
but it is the loss that shapes the image,
gathers the flowers weaves the garland."-
