The Shores of Alone

Fragile stem of once strong rose,
petals fade, no longer glow.

Feel him slowly slip away,
no respite at end of day.

Fragrant flower crumbles now,
rich blossom with small head bowed.

Fragile love no longer viable,
fantasies prove unreliable.

Nothing left but love so torn,
flower's beauty so forlorn.

Fingers stained with drops of love,
soaring heart falls from above.

Only rose's remnants stay,
fragile love again betrayed.

Oh Cat..how this crys out to my heart.  Fragile flowers, fragile hearts, fragile love.  Beautifully done.  Hardrock

Me too Cat, we are ever fragile aren't we?  Fragile love, fragile hearts, fragile rose, fragile feelings.  It hurts to lay ourselves open again, but we must if we are to find the happiness we seek.  Beautiful work hon

This is awesome...I love how much in common I have with people here!  I wrote one once called "the last rose"  I alluded the same things you did.  Hey maybe we share a brain?! lol..anyways, great work!!!

This is wonderful...I love it.  But, isn't it a testimony that in spite of the fragileness of our beings, we somehow survive?  Linda

~Oh KittyCat,...I breathed deeply and took this all in. It's scent lingers in the air. *sigh* Fingers stained with drops of love,...how sadly beautiful. Hhm was what I just said totally confusing? Anyway, it's mine,...I'm holding this one inside of me. Take care you. *Peace.

I love the reference of the heart to the rose...so fragile both...but of the two, I think the heart is stronger...a lovely, spirit lit, but sad poem!

Dear dear Cat

This is just so sad... the pain tears at my heart.  And yet it is frighteningly familiar, something so common as to almost make us immune.

Almost.

As always, a real work of class and beauty.
Thanks for sharing.

Love
Sylvia
